Kilimanjaro Marangu route 6 days, often known as the “Coca Cola” route, is a traditional Kilimanjaro hike. It is the oldest and most well-known route.
Many people choose Kilimanjaro Marangu route 6 days, since it is said to be the simplest on the mountain due to its gentle grade.
It is also the only route that provides sleeping huts in a dormitory setting.
The lowest number of days needed for this route is five, but the chances of reaching the summit in that time are slim.
Marangu is popular during the rainy season, when hut lodging is recommended.

Day by Day Itinerary
DAY 0: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA
You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transported to your accommodation in Moshi town, where you will meet your guide who will educate you on your forthcoming trip and do an equipment check to ensure that you have all of the required mountain gear.
On this day, you may hire the missing equipment.

DAY 1: MARANGU GATE (1860M) TO MANDARA HUT (2700M)
You will be picked up from your Moshi accommodation and transported to the Marangu gate after breakfast. Your trip may begin after all of the required paperwork is done, and you will soon be trekking through the thick jungle.
As you make your way to the Mandara Hut, you’ll have the opportunity to see several primates in addition to the amazing flora. Following a well-deserved rest, your guide may drive you to the Maundi Crater, where you can take in the stunning views of Kenya’s interior.

DAY 2: MANDARA HUT (2700M) TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
Breakfast is served first thing in the morning. You will reach the timberline shortly after leaving Mandara Hut and then enter the heath and moor zone. The Horombo Hut, which stands at a height of 3700m, will be in sight 4–6 hours later. From the hut, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Mawenzi, Kibo, and the Masai steppe’s vast plain.

DAY 3: ACCLIMATIZATION TREK TO ZEBRA ROCKS (4020M) THEN BACK TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)

DAY 4: HOROMBO HUT (3700M) TO KIBO HUT (4700M)
The current stage is lengthy and difficult. The well-maintained path leads to the “Last Water Point,” which is followed by the “saddle.” This virtually devoid of flora plateau connects Kibo’s main peak with Mawenzi.
Today’s goal is the Kibo Hut, which takes approximately 5–6 hours to reach. Because the night will be brief, you will have an early evening dinner followed by an early night.

DAY 5: KIBO HUT (4700M) TO UHURU PEAK (5895M) & DOWN TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
The summit stage is today, dubbed “The Big Day.” Around midnight, you’ll begin your last climb, which will be lengthy and difficult. The ascent gradually but steadily ascends after passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m.
To dawn, you’ll arrive at Gillman’s Point (5681m) on Kilimanjaro’s crater rim, where the light will begin to gently warm the ground. You’ll quickly forget about the cold of the night, and after another 1–2 hours of hiking, you’ll reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m.
A delicious lunch awaits you upon your return to Kibo Hut, followed by a 1–2 hour rest before returning to Horombo Hut.

DAY 6: HOROMBO HUT (3700M) TO MARANGU GATE (1860M)
The summit stage is today, often known as “The Big Day.” Around midnight, you’ll begin a long and hard last climb. The ascent gently but steadily ascends after passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m.
To dawn, you’ll arrive at Gillman’s Point (5681m), on Kilimanjaro’s crater rim, where the light will begin to gently warm the ground. You’ll quickly forget about the cold of the night, and after another 1–2 hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at Uhuru Peak, which stands at 5895 meters.

DAY 7: DEPART TANZANIA
