Daniel Makundi

Founder & Director

Daniel Makundi founded Exceed Expectations Tours with a simple mission: to share the natural wonders of Tanzania with the world while supporting local communities and conservation. Born and raised in Moshi at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Daniel's love for Tanzania's wildlife began in childhood, accompanying his father on walks through the Kilimanjaro foothills where they would spot colobus monkeys and listen for the calls of tropical birds. After studying tourism management at the University of Dar es Salaam, Daniel spent a decade working as a safari guide in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro before founding Exceed Expectations Tours. His firsthand experience guiding thousands of clients through Tanzania's national parks gives him a deep understanding of what makes a great safari, and he brings that expertise to every itinerary the company designs. Daniel holds a Gold-level guide license from the Tanzania Tourist Board, is a certified Wilderness First Responder, and serves on the board of the Arusha Community Conservation Trust. He is passionate about responsible tourism that benefits local communities and contributes to the protection of Tanzania's wildlife heritage for future generations.

Grace Kimaro

Operations Manager

Grace Kimaro ensures that every safari, Kilimanjaro climb, and Zanzibar holiday runs smoothly from first inquiry to final airport transfer. With a background in hospitality management and eight years of experience in Tanzania's tourism industry, Grace oversees logistics, accommodation bookings, transportation, and the day-to-day operations that make the difference between a good trip and an exceptional one. Grace's meticulous attention to detail and her extensive network of relationships with lodges, camps, airlines, and service providers throughout Tanzania ensure that every element of your itinerary is confirmed, quality-checked, and ready for your arrival. She anticipates potential issues before they arise and has backup plans for every scenario, from weather disruptions to vehicle breakdowns. A graduate of the College of African Wildlife Management in Mweka, Grace combines her operational expertise with a genuine passion for wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism. She is the calm, organized center around which the entire operation revolves.
